| The USA residential solar market changed for the better on January 1, 2009. That is the day the $2,000 limit was removed from the 30% solar federal tax credit until December 31, 2016. Maybe you've also noticed that state, city and utility rebates are rapidly changing to encourage the deployment of solar to meet federal renewable energy mandates? Without a doubt, residential solar systems are an excellent investment for homeowners right now. The issue today is ramping up and educating a sales force that is capable of explaining the benefits of solar to the average Howard Stern listener (That's not a shot at anyone, just a sales reality). I'm often asked, "can you help me find a job?" Maybe, we have a list of contractors interested in speaking with our graduates. But, if you are one of the few sales professionals that approaches a solar contractor ready to hit the streets and close deals, you will stand out and be able to sell yourself easily.
Imagine you're a contractor and you get calls from 20 laid off auto salespeople that don't know anything about selling solar. Imagine the contractor's relief when you call with the skills necessary to do the job immediately. Contractors typically aren't the best sales trainers and rarely have a training program.
